EDITORIAL PROCESS
An editor will check the submitted manuscript for its suitability with the Acta Medica Indonesiana focus and scope and major methodological flaws within two weeks. The editor will also check the grammar and ensure that a professional native English proofreader has evaluated the manuscript. Every submitted manuscript that passes this step will then be checked for plagiarism by Turnitin and/ or Viper by scanmyessay. If there is evidence of minor plagiarism, the paper must be revised; if there is evidence of severe plagiarism, it will be rejected.
The next step is a screening process based on the EQUATOR-network guidelines and our journal's author guidelines to assess the manuscript’s eligibility before it proceeds to peer review. Then, the editor-in-charge will be assigned to the manuscript. Subsequently, the manuscript will go through peer-review process. The revisions may be required and will be re-evaluated by the editor-in-charge after the authors provide sufficient responses. The manuscript will be passed to the editor-in-chief for any further revision, and ultimately will undergo an editorial decision.
The accepted manuscript proceeds to the copyediting phase for spelling and grammatical checks, standardization of the journal’s in-house style, table and figure enhancements, and general writing quality enhancements. A pending scheduled publication will result from this stage's unfinished revision. The document will next enter the typesetting stage of production. The author receives a PDF file for approval; no further scientific alterations should be made. Since the editor must approve the revisions, noncompliance will cause the publication to be delayed. Before anything is published, the corresponding author must give their final approval.
PEER-REVIEW PROCESS
Our journal uses the standard reviewing process from OJS to manage the review process. The Standard Review Process has its steps reviewers through the process, ensures a complete review history for each submission, and takes advantage of automatic reminder notifications and standard recommendations for submissions (Accept, Accept with revisions; Submit for review; Submit elsewhere; Decline; See comments).
An editor first reviews the submitted manuscript. It will be evaluated in the office whether it is suitable for our focus and scope or has major methodological flaws. Every submitted manuscript that passes this step will be checked to identify any plagiarism before being reviewed by reviewers. One of the reviewers is appointed from other institutions (national or international). This journal uses double-blind review, The manuscript will be sent to the reviewer anonymously. Reviewers' comments are also sent anonymously to the corresponding author to take the necessary actions and responses. The decision on the revised manuscript will then be evaluated in an editorial board meeting, the final decision of whom are sent to the corresponding author.
Editors will email selected Reviewers the title and abstract of the submission, as well as an invitation to log into the journal website to complete the review. Reviewers enter the journal website to agree to do the review, to download submissions, submit their comments, and select a recommendation.
